Côte d’Ivoire : les 75 ans du Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques célébrés à Abidjan
The deputy-mayor of Yopougon, Adama Bictogo, took part on Thursday, March 26, 2026 in the festivities marking the 75th anniversary of the Swiss Center for Scientific Research (CSRS), organized at the institution's headquarters in Adiopodoumé.
This large-scale ceremony was attended by several high-ranking personalities, including the Vice-President of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis, who is also Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Ivorian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Adama Diawara.
In his address, Adama Bictogo praised the longevity of the CSRS, which he saw as a symbol of the strength of relations between Côte d'Ivoire and Switzerland. He also highlighted the quality of this partnership, focused on improving living conditions for the population and training elites in key areas such as the environment, agriculture, and health.
The celebration was punctuated by a guided tour of the center's technical facilities and laboratories, as well as by the presentation of expansion and modernization projects planned for the coming years.
Established more than seven decades ago, the Swiss Center for Scientific Research has established itself as a major player in research in West Africa, actively contributing to scientific development and innovation in Ivory Coast.
