Facobly : la caravane de la CMU mobilise les populations autour de l’accès aux soins
The momentum for promoting Universal Health Coverage (UHC) continues across the country. On Saturday, March 14, 2026, the National Health Insurance Fund's (CNAM) awareness caravan reached a significant milestone in the town of Facobly, located in the Guémon region.
For the occasion, the local cultural center served as the venue for a large information and awareness-raising event about this social protection program. Early in the morning, a large crowd responded to the call, filling the hall to learn about the benefits and procedures for joining the CMU (Universal Health Coverage).
The CNAM teams took advantage of this meeting to explain in detail how the system, implemented by the Ivorian government to facilitate access to healthcare for all, works. Discussions focused in particular on enrollment requirements, the cost of contributions, and the benefits covered by Universal Health Coverage.
Through this mobile clinic, the CNAM (National Health Insurance Fund) aims to bring CMU (Universal Health Coverage) services closer to the population, particularly those living in rural areas or far from major urban centers. The goal is to encourage residents to register in large numbers to benefit from partial or full coverage of their medical care at partner healthcare facilities.
Participants were also able to ask questions and obtain clarification on the procedures for obtaining the CMU card, a document now essential to access the system.
This Facobly stage is part of a vast national campaign aimed at strengthening public support for Universal Health Coverage, which authorities consider a major lever for improving access to care and promoting more inclusive social protection in Côte d'Ivoire.
