Côte d’Ivoire : le sucre face au défi climatique – la filière se réinvente !

La filière sucrière ivoirienne entre dans une nouvelle ère. La campagne 2025-2026 a officiellement démarré le 27 octobre à Badikaha, dans le Hambol, sous le coup d’envoi du ministre d’État à l’Agriculture, Kobénan Kouassi Adjoumani. Objectif : réussir une récolte record tout en affrontant le changement climatique.

Cette année, la SUCAF-CI vise 1,17 million de tonnes de cannes à sucre et 120 000 tonnes de sucre, avec une stratégie claire : produire plus, mieux et localement. Après une saison précédente marquée par des pluies tardives et des maladies de la canne, la société mise sur des pratiques agricoles durables, l’utilisation d’engrais écologiques et des technologies modernes pour booster les rendements.

Mais la production n’est qu’une partie du défi. La SUCAF-CI appelle également à un nouveau contrat-plan avec l’Étatpour moderniser ses infrastructures et sécuriser la filière sur le long terme. Une démarche qui place la Côte d’Ivoire sur la voie de la souveraineté alimentaire et d’une filière sucrière plus résiliente face aux aléas climatiques.

En résumé : le sucre ivoirien se réinvente, entre ambition de production et adaptation aux défis environnementaux. Une campagne qui promet de marquer un tournant historique pour la filière.
